Possibly the bargaining begins with an exorbitant figure for those places - just like the first figure you hear approaches the whopping ten euros - then comes a cordial and usual bargaining that you will find routine (some hate it, others love it: it goes in the genes) until you reach the figure you plan to pay for what is offered.
Personally, the final task of bargaining I think is not a matter of getting the most personal benefit but think from the beginning what you are willing to pay for what you have in your hands for that room.
In this case; a beautiful double room overlooking Pushkar Lake in Rajasthan for 6 euros.
