The Montseny massif, less than an hour's drive from Barcelona, offers an alternative to the Pyrenees to make mountain trails affordable for most mortals.
This time we chose the area of Arbucies in its most eastern part of the Montseny. Although the weather forecasts were not very promising, the clouds overcast the sky but fortunately the rain took pity on us throughout the day.
Following the indications of the great route book by the Montseny de Joan López, we left the car parked in the westernmost part of Arbucies. Here begins a wide track that goes through the forest and can leave us to Santa Fe on a long journey.
We chose the route that connects the town of Arbúcies and the swamp of Santa Fe. However, we had reserved the starting population in a neighboring restaurant and could only enjoy a couple of hours of mountains. For this reason, we decided to cut the excursion and make a circular route in the vicinity.
With the Brown Gros dels Roters As the highlight of the excursion, we start following the itinerary from the beginning of the park in the northwest area of the town.
In order not to get lost it is necessary to carry the map of the Alpina del Montseny publishing house. We leave the car and go on a path that makes a circular which first goes to Can Pairana and goes through a lush forest. The intensity of the rains at this time of the year rejuvenates the forest and there are multiple streams that come off the mountain.
